Vice-Chancellor’s Scholars are identified among those scholarship applicants who have achieved exceptional academic results and leadership while at high school. If chosen, you are offered the opportunity to study the degree of your choice and to participate in development programs to prepare you as a future leader.
This is an annual scholarship which can be applied to candidates who meet all entry requirements for a Bachelor program at RMIT Vietnam.
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
Be a citizen of Vietnam
Have completed high school* with a minimum grade 12 GPA of 9.0/ 10.0; or IB diploma with a minimum of 35 points in total; or GCE ‘A’ Levels (UK) of minimum 12 points for three Advanced subjects (A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1), or equivalent;
Have strong leadership qualities and potential and good records of extracurricular activities;
Have IELTS (Academic) 6.5+ (no band below 6.0) or equivalent. For other international English entry requirements, please view the English equivalency requirements (links to Australian website);
Be commencing study at RMIT Vietnam in a semester in 2023**.
*High school graduation date must not be more than two years at the time of the scholarship application deadline.
**Students who commence their study in semester 1 or 2 of 2023 may still be eligible to apply for the undergraduate scholarship(s) for prospective students. If successful, the scholarship will only apply from semester 3 2023.
Vice-Chancellor’s Scholars are awarded on merit, and take into account past academic performance, passion for success, creativity, engagement with community involvement and future leadership potential.
There is a screening, shortlisting and interview process. Currently, past academic performance is weighted as follows: 60% Year 12 GPA + 30% Year 11 GPA + 10% Year 10 GPA.
You are required to provide the following supporting documents in your scholarship application form.
In your statement, you should address the following:
Your intended major (program) and goals for university;
What education in your intended program will help you achieve your goals;
Why RMIT should select you as a Vice-Chancellor’s Scholar;
Your relevant academic, extracurricular and leadership activities
If the letters are not written in English, please attach translated versions of them.
This may include:
Leadership in volunteer work or charity groups
Leadership in clubs or associated activities
Work experience gained through internships, paid jobs or volunteer work
Certificates or awards you have received
*The portfolio may include photos, videos, documents, and links to websites.
Note: All supporting documents must be in English and combined in one file in .pdf format and smaller than 16 MB.
